It amazes me at how awful I’ve become at keeping up with my website. This is definitely something I need to work on…
Anyway, this past weekend, I took a little road trip up to Maine to go adventure, shoot and hangout with my team. In the weeks prior to all this, I was really feeling stressed out due to all the work I had to keep up with and the lack of working technology I was surrounded by. My internet was out for three days, I was behind on my articles for Fstoppers, I had more jobs to edit/plan and the trip was coming up very quick. The night before we left, I was able to sit down and get a ton of this work done, thinking that I would be able to give myself some freedom for a few days.
About a year or two ago I wrote a blog on here talking about social media and how important it is to keep up with it all. Just as I was about to shut my phone off for a full five days to escape reality, things really started to blow up. I was featured on one of the largest drone accounts that I have been following for the past few years and that photo ended up being the most engaged with on their page. The coolest part about this is that for all the years I followed their page, the work they posted would always inspire me to create content.
From that, I finally have to opportunity to inspire others and have several people reach out to me asking for prints. This gets me really excited about the print business I am planning to start this winter because I have all this work that kinda just sits online right now. It would be nice to see my work hanging on peoples wall and know that they appreciate my work just as much as I do. On top of that, I woke up with a DM from a huge drone guy I connected with on Instagram offering me a fully covered trip to Dubai and Tanzania. This is a huge project where I will produce content for a newer drone company that will be releasing their new drone in January. I am honored to be a part of this and look forward to traveling to these new countries. I will write more about this as soon as I can :)
It’s funny to think that all this can just happen at once. After having one of the most stresfull weeks in a while, I was rewarded with so much. My weekend away from the phone became a weekend of restricted phone use figuring out flights and work while I was deep in Maine. This trip was much needed for me to clear my mind, step away from doing the work I do on a day to day basis and get back out there to shoot things I actually enjoy. It was awesome to spend time with everyone that is now a part of Simply Visual Productions and I am really looking forward to working together and growing together as a team.
More to come when I can get a few things together on my end as well. In the meantime, here are a few photos from the trip!
